me & mimi

this weekend mimi & pappy came to visit us. it was really fun - pappy makes me giggle a lot! they brought their two puppies roscoe & daisy too. roscoe looks like gordo so i really like him. sunday mimi carried me around in momma's wrap - that was cool!

holy cow! i dig this stuff. last night i was cranky at the table while mom and pop were trying to eat. so they decided to keep me busy with this thing called a banana - have y'all heard of it? it's deee-licious!
















i suggest you all go out and try one today. they are really good! mmm...i can still taste it. oh wait, there is still some on my lip. and behind my ear. and under my chin(s). and on my leg.
















when it was all said and done i was pretty well covered. but i totally dug it. no icky faces here!





















mom and pop said they'll use the high chair next time. and a bib. maybe even a spoon. this was just so spur of the moment that all that stuff was forgotten!

now it's official!

i'm a card carrying member of the society of people who sit up (spwsu)! today - just moments ago, actually - i sat up for at least 5 minutes and played with some of my toys. pretty freakin' sweet.

this is a file photo (taken a few days ago when i only sat up for moments at a time).

i know y'all are dying to know about my next two teeth. they aren't here yet, but they are almost here. i can tell this because my gums are swollen in the shape of teeth! yikes. luckily i'm kind of used to the pain now.

i'm so sitting up! not for, like, minutes at a time, but i'm really sitting up. when i get really excited about a toy, or some fabric, or gordo walking by, or something else equally exciting i forget about balancing and fall over though. i think poppa caught this feat on camera. i just need one of those parents to post it for me!

so you know how i said my first two teeth didn't hurt a bit? well these next two do. A LOT. my little gums are so swollen and sore i can hardly stand it. in fact i can't stand it...usually around 1 a.m. i feel the need to vent my anger for the whole neighborhood to hear. the only consolation i have is that once these pearly whites pop out i'll be able to inflict some real damage on unsuspecting fingers! watch out world - i've got a matching set coming.

i hate car seats

good grief - that was a lot of time in a car seat! momma, poppa and i drove to houston saturday, then i went with momma and mimi to a baby shower in spring. then we drove home sunday. my little bootie is still numb.

i know a lot of you will be mad i didn't come see you, but there is only so much i can do in a 24 hour span. give a baby a break! i wanted to see everyone - really.

this was my first overnight trip and i think it was pretty cool. i slept in mimi & pappy's big bed with momma & poppa. that was so nice of them to give up their room for us!

i see a lot of trips in my future - i'm even going camping in august. stay tuned!

hey! where did my sippy cup go?

they took my sippy cup away! mom thinks that just because i like chewing on the sippy cup i've started chewing on her. not the case at all: i just like to hear her holler!

yep. i got a sippy cup! i'm not so sure about drinking out of it, but i sure like chewing on it.

also this week: i went with mom and pop to the park - i swung on the swing for the first time! the bright yellow chain the seat was hanging from was a lot more interesting than swinging, though. then i slid down the slide. pretty cool. i'll definitely have them take me back. it pooped me out, though, i fell asleep in the backpack poppa was carrying me in! thank goodness the camera had dead batteries or i'm sure my folks would post an embarrassing picture of that.

i had my first professional photo shoot yesterday! the pictures are going to be great. i hope she didn't take any of my bum when i fell asleep, though! ok, gotta run: i'm meeting my photographer to review my proofs over dinner.
